enjoying my week...

I debated having my youth group on Monday evening, because I didn't want the kids to think I was looking for some sort of celebration. If I would have cancelled, I feel like I would have said "I value me more than my commitment to you", therefore I went ahead with our scheduled evening. The kids (and I'm sure the leaders) took it upon themselves to throw a little surprise for me!
It was so wonderful and completely NOT expected! The above cake Dina MADE for me! It was awesome, and my favorite...yellow cake...white icing...homemade! (I DO NOT like store bought cakes...like Food Lion/Giant Eagle cakes...too much iciing...yuck) I'm a huge music fan...love to dance...what's better than an iPod cake!?
They actually put 31 candles on my cake, so this is the second attempt at the candles. Amy had my favorite, yummy, taco dip and there was some delicious grapefruit punch! It was perfect! And...I got to celebrate with all my high school students. It was a true blessing.
I LOVE my job, I love my kids, I love my little life here. Thank you, Lord, for your rich and beautiful blessings!
Of course I had to do a little jig...

Hi Sayward,

Happy belated Birthday. Looks like you had lots of fun celebrations.

I tried to reply to your facebook message to me and it didn't work. Big surprise for me, huh?

Anyway,I would love to hang out with you guys any of those days you are available. Unfortunately Paul will be at St. Christopher the first 4 days of our trip so he'll miss out, but I'm game.

Looking forward to it,
Lauren

What an awesome cake! Happy Birthday again Sayward! It seems like just yesterday we were eight-years-old playing on Hill Street and now we're in our thirties!
