THANKSgiving wrap-up...

Our life is beginning to resemble a new normal. One of which I'm still unfamiliar with. One I'm not willing to really go into much detail about, right now, but it's a good newness. A needed newness. A blessed newness. We took the week of and went to my mother's for Thanksgiving. Forced to be in the car for over 10 hours (total), with lots of conversation. Thank you, Lord.
Spencer loves any minute given with her extended family. This break was nothing but rewarding. We hit up the Discovery Zone in Charlotte, one afternoon, and played 'till we could no longer. Ian loved it, Spencer loved it, and the boys were great sports about it.

Spencer LOVES time with Nana and Grandpa, and this time was no different. My mother and Brian have great food in the house, give the kids way too much attention and we end up peeling Spencer off of them to get in the car to come home. We had lots of great snacks all day long, Shawn's "famous" Nog 'n' Rum, cards, and lots of laughter.
I managed to stay under the radar with helping to cook at all. My mom asked me to set the table, which I tried to do wrong (so I wouldn't be asked again), but it went unnoticed. Oh well.
Shawn taught Matt how to carve the turkey this year, and he did a great job. The turkey and all the fixin's were delicious and I ate way too much!!!

After a great dinner, I chugged some coffee and hit the line at Target (about 9:15 PM). I was 44th in line and did manage to get us a new 40" TV! Woo hoo! We love it, and I'm pretty sure Santa picked up way too much, as well, for the rest of the family. I was home by 2:15 AM, which wasn't bad at all. I still think the stores should wait until 4am to open on the ACTUAL Black Friday.
We were exhausted after our week of family. But, thankful.
